Optimism is Not Optional

Optimism is Not Optional

Dictionary.com has this to say about optimism.

[op-tuh-miz-uh m]

  1. a disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome.

Whether by nature or nurture, some folks have a greater propensity to be optimistic. But it is also a learned trait, a discipline of both the will and the mind. While there is an undeniable ebb-and-flow to life with its inevitable ups-and-downs, optimism is the key to balancing your ship, and keeping it heading in the direction of your dreams.

Optimism can help grow your self-assurance.

"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.  Nothing can be done without hope and confidence."  Hellen Keller

Optimism can help you overcome your problems.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."  Winston Churchill

Optimism can give you the ability to tame your fears and become energized.

"Pessimism leads to weakness. Optimism to power."  William James

Maybe all we need to do is understand is that we don't really know enough to be pessimistic. And just believe that our good efforts, given for worthy goals, will create fantastic results.

Are you optimistic? If yes, great!

If not, do you have a situation that you can find a way to become more optimistic about today?
